Power Washing

Hubby's best friend is his power washer. It can do amazing things. He cleaned the concrete driveway and it went front black to white.
Yesterday he conquered the mold and mildew that was on the exterior of the house.

He even got up on the roof and cleaned the eaves and gable. It looks much brighter now. With that huge oak over the house like an umbrella, I guess dealing with mold is going to be an ongoing issue. The tree is beautiful and it does keep the house cool, but it also drops tons of leaves everywhere. I've noticed nearly every home in the area has the same problem.

We started working on the front of the house by removing all the gingerbread from around the front door which allows more light to enter the front rooms. Hubby took off the window box which was completely rotted, removed all the potted plants and he's going to dismantle all the raised flower beds around the foundation which will hopefully keep the bug factor down. We plan to re-landscape, just in a different way.

We are really anxious to paint the house. We went to Sherman Williams the other day and found the color I've been looking for. It's called Festoon Aqua. I wanted Benjamin Moore's Sea Mist Green, but couldn't find a a dealer. This color is very close to it and the paint store is close by, so we're going with this choice. The paint is on sale for $38 a gallon for another week, so we have to hurry and buy it.

  1. Funny, my hubby's best friend is his powerwasher too! He can't go seven days without using it on something.
